Why We Exist
The idea began with a simple question.
Why do we plant forests that produce no food?
That question eventually became The Edible Forest Estate.
Today our objective is to demonstrate that productive landscapes can support biodiversity, strengthen communities and remain valuable for generations to come.
What Is a Food Forest?
A Food Forest is a carefully designed ecosystem that mimics the structure of a natural woodland whilst producing food.
Rather than relying upon a single crop, Food Forests combine multiple layers of trees, shrubs, herbs and ground cover to create resilient, productive landscapes.
